Internet Explorer 9: The Starter User Guide

As everyone in the corporate world is running the rat race with the cheese as customers or users they have to continuously give them the best of best else the cheese will change its taste.


For running ahead in this rat race Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 9 was finally made official.

This has so much to give to users that it really has become a big issue that can users know or get everything they saw while downloading IE9. The shortcuts, dynamic jump lists with extensive HTML 5 support and improved hardware acceleration for graphic performance has made it above all and unique enough to catch one’s eye.

Check Your Jump lists
Here is an example of the Dynamic Jumplists in IE9, if this option is enabled by the owner then you can take advantage of this amazing feature, and can jump to the page directly for faster access in the future.


Right-clicking on a pinned Facebook icon, for example, lets you quickly jump to your Newsfeed, Messages, Events or your Friend List. The New York Times lists its top stories of the day as well as quick access to search, the Times’ most popular stories, video, and the site’s homepage.

Bind Your Website in Taskbar
A New thing for Windows 7 and vista users is that they can now turn any website into a web application by installing it in your taskbar. If you use Google Docs or Office Live Web Apps, for example, a one-click option in your taskbar can be a real-time saver.
To start it all you need is one click on the tab you want to pin and drag it to the taskbar and bingo the site’s icon will be shown in the taskbar, just click to access it.


Enable Tracking Protection
This is a nice feature that provides you a way to stop sites from tracking your web activities. To enable this feature click on the settings icon (the cog) in the right corner of your browser. Select Safety>Tracking Protection.
A new window will appear allowing you to enable this feature of avoiding the preying eyes. Once enabled, tracking protection will automatically start blocking sites from monitoring you. You can also download predefined tracking lists here by clicking on “Add TPL” next to each list you’d like to add to your browser.

Lock Your Search Provider
Just as we use the Omnibox in chrome, IE9 lets you search directly in the URL address bar (called the One Box in IE) instead of in a separate search field.
It will search with your default search engine, for IE9 its Bing, but if you want to change this click on the settings icon (the cog) in the upper right corner of the browser window and select “Manage Add-Ons.” Then in the pop-up window select “Search Providers” and then “Find more search providers” in the bottom left of the window.

This will take you to the IE9 add-ons gallery where you can choose from a variety of search options including Bing, Google, Yahoo Search Suggestions, Wikipedia, Facebook, and many others.

# Once you add a search provider, you will see all your search options appear at the bottom of the drop-down menu when you search using the One Box.

IE9 has a lot of new features to offer, so if you haven’t taken a look at IE in awhile, you should check out the latest iteration of Microsoft’s Web browser. Not because it claims to be different but because it’s new and you may never know when you will start liking it.
